VIC – School of hard knocks
The School of Hard Knocks is a charitable organisation devoted to serving homeless and vulnerable members of our society.
These marginalised people, forgotten and pushed to the fringe of society, can only dream of participation in everyday social activities. Enter; the School of Hard Knocks. This organisation is dedicated to providing cultural, art and well-being programs to help create pathways to education and employment.
On Wednesdays from October 22nd to December 17th 2014 the School of Hard Knocks has been bringing these people together for participation in a choir at the Frankston Uniting Church. This choir is an inspiring venture, providing an outlet for creative expression, and helping build self-confidence and self-esteem.
On Wednesday 5th November after listening to the incredible talent at choir practice, the Berwick RRT provided a catered lunch for all participants and staff at the Frankston Uniting Church to support this valuable enterprise.
The lunch of freshly cooked gourmet burgers was followed by a desert of lamingtons and tea and coffee. It was greatly appreciated by all, both the charity volunteers, and choir participants. Numerous pleas were heard for further assistance at future programs.
