Taranaki, NZ, Plymouth Brethren Raise Funds for Rescue Helicopter

Taranaki Rescue Helicopter Donation from Plymouth Brethren Children

The Plymouth Brethren communities in New Plymouth, Hawera and Wanganui, New Zealand, raised over $19,000 for the Taranaki Rescue Helicopter Trust. This organisation provides valuable rescue operations in one of New Zealands most beautiful, and sometimes treacherous regions, including wild Mt Taranaki. The Rescue Trust was urgently needing funds to keep its helicopter and other services operational, and made an urgent appeal for funds.

Students at Taranaki Westmount School rallied to the cause and raised $5000 through selling school lunches and other fund-raising activities.

They then appealed to the Plymouth Brethren business community and a further $10,000 was raised.

The Taranaki Rescue Helicopter flew into the school campus for a visit by the crew and two cheques were presented by the students.

Since this, further donations have increased the total to over $19,000.

The Plymouth Brethren Christian Church continues to support local community needs.

This is awesome. Auckland’s campus also supports the Westpac Rescue Helicopter, we have been doing it for the last 3-4 years.
