RELAY FOR LIFE -ALBANY

Relay for Life is the Cancer Council’s most successful fundraising program and community event. Relays happen all around Australia right throughout the year. Each Relay is a chance to celebrate cancer survivors and remembers loved ones lost to cancer.  It is a fun and moving 24 hour event that Teams participate in a relay-style walk or run, challenging themselves to stay on the track overnight. All proceeds are used to fund the research, prevention and support of those affected by cancer.

RRT was involved in the setting up of the Albany event on Friday 20th March. Albany is situated at the bottom of Western Australia – about 4 hours south of Perth.

Helping to set up the banners

The RRT team helped set up the stage, where speeches would take place the following day. They also assisted in marking out the track, erecting directional signage and banners and the numerous other odd jobs necessary  to prepare for the big day. The RRT team consisted of 8 volunteers attended in 4hr shifts.
