Progress on New PBCC Church at Lisarow
The Plymouth Brethren Christian Church at Lisarow NSW is making progress in November 2014 with the walls and roof frame complete, and roof sheeting underway. A pleasant contrast to just a few months ago when very little could be seen above ground.
Now, with much groundwork completed, construction is continuing at an impressive rate and the elegant structure is coming to life.
Noteworthy features include the roof which is intricate in design as well as the extensive use of commercial glazing to the foyer area. These are critical components in achieving the ‘form and function’ outcome of the project.
The Macdonalds road upgrade is now complete and all residents of the valley now enjoy a smooth tarred road that improves safety and access whilst maintaining the scenic rural atmosphere.
And in a significant step to reduce impact on the surrounding ecosystem and environment, Gosford City Council has approved a connection to the town sewer some 650m away which is a vast improvement over the otherwise planned onsite waste treatment system.
The local economy is being greatly supported by the project as materials are being sourced from local suppliers wherever possible, whilst community members young and old are working hard to provide the necessary labour to make the new church a reality.
The Plymouth Brethren aim to complete the project in early 2015.
