Little Fighters Fundraiser “It’s In the Bag” – New Plymouth

On the evening of Saturday 22nd August, the Little Fighters Trust held their “It’s in the bag” fundraising event in New Plymouth, New Zealand.

‎This hugely successful event combined a game of the ‘80s TV hit, with a fundraising auction. The event venue ‘hosts’ Tasman Toyota, kindly donated a Toyota Yaris which was auctioned alongside other goodies such as a signed Joseph Parker boxing glove and an All Blacks jersey.

Little Fighters is a charity which has been set up to support families suffering a life threatening illness. Support for families has included funding for family’s to travel to Auckland’s Starship Hospital, pretty dresses and an iPad full of games for a young girl suffering from cancer, and a new sandpit for a two-year-old little fighter. At the event, several recipients of the charity gave moving speeches about how Little Fighters had helped their family.

RRT initially approached the event organisers about helping out with the event catering. ‎The Little Fighters team welcomed the support of RRT to cater and serve their corporate guests. Between 7pm-10pm on the Saturday evening, RRT catered and served 150 guests. Guests were treated to a variety of tasty titbits, including cheese platters, sushi, blue cod bites, barbecued steak kebabs, and cheesecake. All food was cooked on site, including 20 pizzas in a wood-fired pizza oven, and fresh smoked salmon.

It was really rather exciting to view the operation!‎”

    That’s amazing, New Plymouth RRT.
To help raise that much money with a little food, would be very rewarding.
May the Little Fighters become Great Warriors.
