NEW VIDEO – RRT Supports ACRF at COLOR ME RAD – 23/2/14

Supporting the Australian Cancer Research Foundation (ACRF) is a truly worthy cause. Since its inception in 1984, the ACRF has awarded $94.5 million in grants to world class cancer research centres in Australia. These grants are used to fund state of the art technologies and facilities which accelerate the discovery process in the fight against cancer.

Tragically cancer directly affects 1 in 3 Australian men and 1 in 4 women before the age of 75, we all have a story to tell, loved ones, family, friends, community, colleagues, employees, no one is exempt.

RRT contacted the ACRF to offer our charitable resources to help raise the needed funds in support of the great work the ACRF does. With the ACRF partnering with Color Me Rad (CMR) to hold a fun run in February it seemed a perfect fit for RRT to help out with supplying the 140 volunteers needed to make the day function. RRT took on the responsibility for all the volunteer work, offered to provide chilled water for race day and to include a bonus ‘wow’ factor of the RRT fire truck and pump stations to pump coloured water on the runners, a first for a fun run!

    1. frost says:

I think Color Me Rad is a fundraising organisation from the USA. The draw card is to get covered in color while running.

GR8 stuff, but this was held on a Sunday?

I thought the Church’s ethos prevented them doing this sort of thing on Sundays as it’s a special day?
Quote off the meetings statement on “Meetings” section of the website
“Sunday (Lord’s day) is regarded as a special day, commencing with the Lord’s Supper (Holy Communion) at 6am at local churches and thereafter the day is filled with Bible readings and preachings of the Gospel and the Word of God. We also entertain Brethen in our homes for lunches and evening meals.”
Can someone explain – has this changed?

    1. Admin 2 says:

Thanks for your comment, Sunday is indeed considered a special day. You are correct we wouldn’t normally do these types of events on a Sunday. Originally this event was planned for a Saturday and was changed to Sunday. It would have put the event in jeopardy if RRT had suddenly pulled out. As an emergency support organisation RRT does help out on Sundays when necessary.

    2. Curious says:

Many thanks for clarifying this admin.
